If you have a problem with dust, odors, smoke or another air quality issue at your home or place of business, the Air District may be able to help through the complaint process.
If the Air District doesn't know about your air quality issue, we cannot attempt to resolve it. COMPLAINTS CAN BE FILED BY PHONE, IN PERSON, BY MAIL, BY E-MAIL OR BY FAX. See the Air District Contacting Us page for more details.
Additionally, the more complete and descriptive information you provide makes the Air District's job easier in investigating and resolving your air quality complaint.
Remember, your identity is always anonymous unless you give the Air District permission to give your name to the source of the complaint.
The Air District will provide you with information on the results of the investigation unless you specifically request not to be contacted.
Be prepared to provide the following information to the Air District when you file a complaint:
Describe the air quality problem in detail (example, I'm getting black spots on my white car that don't easily wash off)
Describe the frequency of the air quality problem (example, after washing my car, the spots don't come back until around 5 p.m. and this problem began 2 months ago)
Provide the possible source of the the air quality problem (example, Company ABC at 123 East Road)
Provide your name, address where the problem is occurring and a telephone # you can be reached
